About Chandra Vinayak

Located at Chabahil, Kathmandu, Chandra Vinayak is a revered diety for its devotees.It is a well known form of Ganesh or Vinayak, it also takes its name as Chabahil Ganesh from its place of location.The very name of the Shrine Chandra Vinayak suggests “moon” and “ruler of mind” respectively. Devotees throng to this temple on the time when their children are going through obstacles as Ganesh is referred as the almighty that has the remedy for obstacles of every kind.

Pujas of various kinds are offered by people to this lord with a hope of recovery of their children from diseases of various kinds- chicken pox being the special. This deity is also believed to have both forms of energy, Ying and Yang which tends to be fruitful to the ill children at times of illness. There is also a faith that hanging bells at the temple makes the wish of the devotee come true.
