Ginny and Saul meet at the hospital when Ginny's mom and Saul's dad are injured in a car accident. Ginny's mom is having an affair with Saul's dad who is married. Saul hates Ginny on sight but to protect his dad who is running for parliament, coerces Ginny to go out with him publicly so reporters will think that they are the real couple and their parents just happened to be together the night of the accident because they were having dinner with their children. Ginny goes along with this.

In the meantime Ginny's mom, a truly grasping greedy woman, and Saul's mother do not want their children together and sabotage their romance when they see these two really liking each other. Saul's mother accomplishes this through Ginny's ex boyfriend who spreads all kinds of lies about Ginny, namely that she is money hungry just like her mother. Saul is angry when ex-boyfriend tell him this and wants to get back at Ginny. He changes his mind though after spending time with her and really does fall in love. Unfortunately, Ginny discovers at one time he believed her ex boyfriend's lies and then turns into one of the most vindictive, angry heroines I have ever read about. Her actions are really at a junior high level. Saul is very sorry and literally begs and begs for Ginny to forgive him but Ginny is determined to hurt him any way she can.
