The Last Don By Mario Puzo is a classic saga of an American family involved in criminal activities and gives readers a glimpse of the Mob’s power in the film and casino industry.

The Last Don is about the last plan of an aging Mafia boss, Domenico Clericuzio known as the Don, to blend his family with the American society in a legitimate manner.

The Don is semi-retired when it comes matters pertaining to the family business, which is now run by his grandson Dante and his grandnephew Cross. Both Dante and Cross have their own ambitions, Dante desires power, while Cross wants to get into the movie business and make the family business legitimate.

Cross falls in love with Athena Aquitane, America’s most sought after actress. In the meantime, Dante is scheming to head the family. Will there be a happy ending to this family saga? Can the Don ensure that his dream of legitimising the family business will come true? The Last Don reveals the answers along the way that is paved by corpses, murder, gambling, and lust.
